Felix Named Defensive Player of the Year

Sioux Falls, SD (March 15, 2006) - The Continental Basketball Association announced today that Sioux Falls Skyforce forward Noel Felix has been named the CBA Defensive Player of the Year for the 2005-06 season, as voted on by the eight CBA head coaches.

Felix averaged a league-high 2.0 blocked shots per game in his 41 games played for the Sioux Force, finishing with 80 blocked shots. The 6-foot-9, 240-pound forward averaged 7.0 rebounds and just under one steal (0.8) per game. Felix finished with 15.7 points per game while shooting 54.4 pct. from the field and 81.8 pct. from the free-throw line.

The 2003 Fresno State alum was called up by the Seattle Sonics on March 2. The Sonics signed him to a second 10-day contract earlier this week on March 12. He has appeared in two games with Seattle, averaging 1.0 point and 1.0 rebound per game. He participated in the 2006 CBA All-Star Classic in January, scoring 18 points to go with eight rebounds, two assists and one block.
