This is the first of two meetings between the clubs this year. Dallas will travel to Portland to play the Timbers on Saturday, September 29, 2018. FC Dallas is 7-6-5 overall against the Timbers.

100th Match for Mauro Diaz
Saturday's match should be a memorable one for Mauro Diaz. His next regular season MLS appearance will be the 100th of his career. Diaz has played his entire MLS career with FC Dallas, netting 21 goals and dishing 37 assists in 99 previous regular season appearances. Last Year vs. the Timbers
FC Dallas and Portland faced each other twice in 2017. FCD played to a 2-2 draw at Toyota Stadium on April 29, 2017. Dallas fell 2-0 to the Timbers at Providence Park on June 10, 2017.

FC Dallas has only played two MLS matches in 2018 but has 15 shots on goal, tied with Sporting Kansas City for second overall in MLS. The Houston Dynamo currently have a league-leading 20 shots on goal. Both Kansas City and Houston have played three MLS matches.
