
FCD Finalizes Third Annual USA-Brazil Challenge

FRISCO, Texas (Friday, Feb. 13, 2009) - FC Dallas today announced details for the third annual USA-Brazil Challenge, the two-leg aggregate goal series between FCD and Brazilian-partner Clube Atletico Paranaense. The first leg of this year's challenge will be played on March 4 at the Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, Brazil, with the second leg at Pizza Hut Park on March 14 at 7:30 p.m. CT.
Tickets for the return leg at Pizza Hut Park will be available on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. CT at www.fcdallas.com, through all Ticketmaster outlets, and Ticketmaster.com. Ticket prices range from $20-$75. FC Dallas plan holders and fans who purchase tickets to the March 21 season-opener versus the Chicago Fire (by 5 p.m. CT on March 13), will receive free seats for the March 14 game (same as number purchased). As part of its preparation for the 2009 Major League Soccer season, FC Dallas will spend nine days in Brazil, training at the Atletico Paranaense facilities in Curitiba from Feb. 26-March 6. The trip will also include two additional preseason games (dates and opponents TBD).
Paranaense won the 2007 series by defeating Dallas 3-1 in Curitiba on March 7 and 1-0 at Pizza Hut Park on March 31. FC Dallas claimed the title in 2008 after sweeping the series with a 2-0 win in Brazil on March 4 and a 2-1 win at Pizza Hut Park on March 22.
