FC Tulsa News Release
TULSA - It will be a Tulsa derby in the second round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup with FC Tulsa hosting NPSL side Tulsa Athletic on Tuesday, April 5 at ONEOK Field. Tulsa Athletic won its First Round match over Azteca FC on Wednesday night 3-0, setting up the first all-Tulsa matchup in Open Cup history.
Tulsa Athletic is coming off one of its best seasons in club history, advancing all the way to the NPSL National Championship before falling 5-2 to Denton Diablos. That success punched Tulsa Athletic's ticket to the 2022 Open Cup. Athletic took advantage of its opportunity, blanking Azteca to earn its first Open Cup win in its club's history. Now Athletic will take on FC Tulsa, earning a chance to play under the bright lights at ONEOK Field.
Tickets to the derby matchup will be made available first to all 2022 FC Tulsa Season Ticket Members via a link sent through email. STMs will have an exclusive buying window between Thursday and Sunday before tickets are made available to the general public on Monday afternoon.
FC Tulsa's next match will be a USL Championship tilt on the West Coast against Sacramento Republic FC on Sunday at 4 p.m. The match will be broadcast locally on My41 and available nationally on ESPN+.
