EDDIE JOHNSON SCORES AGAIN FOR U.S. TEAM: FC Dallas forward Eddie Johnson continued his torrid pace with the match's only goal in a 1-0 victory for the U.S. Men's National Team over Honduras on Saturday afternoon at University Stadium in Albuquerque, NM. It was the team's final tune-up match for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers on March 27 in Mexico and March 30 in Birmingham, Alabama (versus Guatemala). Johnson has now scored seven goals in six career matches with the U.S. National Team since making his debut back on Oct. 9, 2004. Johnson's current goal pace is unmatched in the 90-year history of the U.S. Men's National Team. He is the only player to score as many as seven goals in his first six matches.
INJURY UPDATES: The injured FC Dallas players are starting to train with the team and are looking to come back at full speed soon. Listed below are the four injured players on the team as of Tuesday, March 22:
Abe Thompson (fractured cheekbone) is in the process of getting a mask to wear during training and should be back with the team at full speed as soon as the mask arrives.
Cornell Glen (ankle sprain) completed a light ball work session at training on Monday and could be back in full swing by the end of the week.
Steve Jolley (minor knee surgery) was brought into training at a slow pace Monday and is close to being completely back with the team.
Eric Quill (calf strain) is feeling much better and should be ready for full speed early next week.
