FC Dallas (15-6-8, 53 points) visits the Portland Timbers (13-9-8, 47 points) on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Providence Park. This is the second meeting of the season between the two clubs. Dallas and Portland played to a 1-1 draw on March 24, 2018 at Toyota Stadium.

FC Dallas has just six losses in 2018, the fewest in MLS' Western Conference and the second-fewest overall in the league. Atlanta United's five losses are the fewest in MLS.

Keeping Pace with a Record Year

Twenty nine games into the season, FC Dallas' 53 points is ahead of the 2016 season pace (51 points through 29 matches) in which it claimed the MLS Supporters' Shield. The 2016 team went 2-0-3 (9 points) in the final five matches of the 2016 season.

Against the Timbers

FC Dallas is 7-6-6 all-time vs the Timbers and 1-5-2 in matches played in Portland. Dallas' only win at Providence Park was on April 13, 2016 in a 3-1 victory. FCD and Portland have played to a draw in two out of the last three matches (1L-2D). Prior to that, Dallas had won four straight against the Timbers.
