Real Salt Lake News Release

SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake (13-11-6, 45 pts., 5th West) returns to the road for a nationally-televised match on Sunday against rival Sporting Kansas City at Children's Mercy Park. RSL is in the midst of a playoff chase and will be playing in its first match on FS1 this season, going up against SKC in a premier Western Conference matchup. RSL is unbeaten in the last three matches against Kansas City at 2-0-1 - with all three meetings at Rio Tinto Stadium. After a 2-0 loss in Atlanta last week, Salt Lake halted a three-game winning streak and two-game road winning streak. Since July 4, RSL is 6-3-4, jockeying for playoff position with just four games left in the regular season. Meanwhile, Sporting Kansas City is second in the West at 15-8-6, but has lost two of the last four matches, including a 2-0 road loss to the Philadelphia Union last week. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. MT with national television coverage on FS1.

RSL is fifth in the Western Conference playoff race entering the final month of the season. The club is now 4-2-4 in the last ten matches, keeping pace in the West as teams vie for postseason berths and home-field advantage in the playoffs.
