FC Dallas Signs Midfielder Eric Alexander

Frisco, Texas - FC Dallas has signed 10-year MLS veteran and former FC Cincinnati midfielder Eric Alexander, the club announced today.

Alexander, 31, was drafted by FC Dallas in the third round (44th overall) of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft. He helped Dallas win the 2010 Western Conference Championship and made 39 appearances over two seasons, scoring two goals and adding three assists before being traded to the Portland Timbers.

The Michigan native also spent time with the New York Red Bulls, Montreal Impact and Houston Dynamo before being selected by FC Cincinnati in the 2018 MLS Expansion draft for its inaugural season. Alexander played in six matches for Cincinnati this season, bringing his all-time MLS regular season appearances total to 218.

Prior to his professional career, Alexander played four seasons of college soccer for the University of Indiana, making 91 appearances and recording 12 goals and 13 assists. He also represented his country internationally, earning two caps for the U.S. Men's National Team beginning in 2011.
