FC Dallas News Release
FRISCO, Texas (Wednesday, Oct. 23) - FC Dallas Management LLC, an affiliate of Major League Soccer's FC Dallas, will operate the city of Dallas' new Soccer Park at Elm Fork, effective Jan. 1, 2014, the city announced today.
"We are excited to partner with FCD Management to provide soccer enthusiasts and spectators a new place to enjoy world-class play and competition in Dallas," said Willis Winters, head of the city's Park and Recreation Department. " Their proven expertise and success will make this new complex a world-class tournament facility that all Dallas citizens will be proud of."
The company will be the exclusive operator for scheduling, maintenance and sponsorships at the park, which is home to 14 full-size natural grass fields and five junior fields. The 120-acre park is located west of I-35 E near Walnut Hill Lane.
"From the moment my father fell in love with the beautiful game during the 1966 World Cup, growing the sport in North Texas and in the U.S. has been a family goal," said Dan Hunt, vice president of Hunt Sports Group. "We feel this venue is another huge step for soccer in this area and as members of this community and ambassadors of the game, we intend to do everything we can to make the Soccer Park at Elm Fork a premier soccer venue for leagues, tournaments, camps and clinics."
