Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON (Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013) - Tickets for a potential Houston Dynamo home playoff game are available now to the general public. Tickets for the first home game may be purchased at www.HoustonDynamo.com, by calling 713-276-GOAL, or by visiting the BBVA Compass Stadium box office (2200 Texas St., Houston) from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Entering the final game of the regular season on Sunday at D.C. United, the Dynamo (13-11-9; 48 points) are tied for fifth place in the Eastern Conference with the New England Revolution (13-11-9; 48 points), but trail the Revolution on the goals scored tiebreaker for the final playoff spot in the East. The top five clubs in each conference qualify for the playoffs. For Houston to secure a place in the playoffs, it needs to defeat D.C. United on Sunday and have one of three teams - the Montreal Impact, Chicago Fire or New England Revolution - lose or draw its final game of the season this weekend.
Montreal visits Toronto FC on Saturday while Chicago plays at New York and New England visits Columbus on Sunday. The Dynamo can also gain a playoff berth with a draw at D.C. United and a loss by New England plus a loss or tie by the Philadelphia Union in its home game against Sporting Kansas City on Saturday.
With the Dynamo's potential seed in the playoffs still undetermined, the date and time of a potential first home playoff game is unknown.
If the Dynamo are the No. 4 seed, they would host the Eastern Conference Knockout Round on Wednesday, Oct. 30 or Thursday, Oct. 31. If the Dynamo finish in third place, they will host the first leg of the Eastern Conference semifinals at BBVA Compass Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 2 or Sunday, Nov. 3. If the Dynamo are the No. 5 seed, they would be on the road for the Knockout Round, and would assume the same hosting schedule as the No. 3 seed if they advance, with a home game on Saturday, Nov. 2 or Sunday, Nov. 3.
Group tickets for Dynamo home playoff games may be purchased by calling 713-276-GOAL.
