FC Dallas in pursuit of MLS Supporters' Shield

FRISCO, Texas (Oct. 4, 2010) - FC Dallas (12-2-13, 49 pts) is unbeaten in 18 straight games after a convincing 3-0 win over the Chicago Fire at Pizza Hut Park Saturday. The win clinched FC Dallas a berth in the 2010 MLS Cup Playoffs. This is the team's first playoff appearance since the 2007 season.

In the win, forward Jeff Cunningham scored his 132nd career goal tying D.C. United's Jaime Moreno for the all-time MLS lead in goals scored in a career.

This Saturday, FC Dallas will play its last home match of the regular season against the Colorado Rapids at Pizza Hut Park (5 p.m. kickoff). Sitting at 49 points, FC Dallas is still in contention for the MLS Supporters' Shield, a trophy awarded to the top team in MLS during the regular season. FC Dallas is four points behind the LA Galaxy. As many as 17 points behind the Galaxy on June 5 of this season, FC Dallas will travel to Los Angeles to play the Galaxy head-to-head on Oct. 24.
