Sporting Kansas City News Release
The Wizards returned home following a 1-0 loss at New York on Saturday and now have an important week of preparation for a stretch of three games in eight days, beginning at 7:30 p.m. CT on Saturday against Seattle Sounders FC at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.
Kansas City remains in third place in the Eastern Conference standings and sits seven points back of San Jose for the final playoff position with four games remaining. The Sounders, on the other hand, can clinch a playoff berth with a win or draw on Saturday.
Tickets for Saturday's match can be purchased online at KCWizards.com or by calling 888-4KC-GOAL.
Kansas City will be looking to rebound after suffering back-to-back losses for the first time since July, and will welcome a surging Seattle side that has lost only once in their last dozen MLS matches. The Sounders, in fourth place in the Western Conference, will be on short rest following their participation in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup championship against Columbus on Tuesday in Seattle.
The Wizards are 1-2-0 all-time against Seattle, who joined Major League Soccer last year. Kansas City suffered their first loss of the 2010 season at the hands of the Sounders in a 1-0 defeat at Qwest Field in April.
Saturday's match will be telecast live in high definition in both English and Spanish on KCWE Channel 29. It will also be broadcast live in Spanish on La Gran D 1340 AM.
The Kansas City Wizards next home match is Saturday, October 9th at 7:30 p.m. CT against the Seattle Sounders at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. Tickets can be purchased by visiting KCWizards.com or by calling 888-4KC-GOAL. The Wizards are also now accepting initial payments for season tickets for the 2011 season, highlighted by the debut of Chivas Guadalajara star and Mexico international Omar Bravo, and the opening of Kansas City's state-of-the-art soccer stadium next summer.
