FC Dallas Hosts Houston Dynamo in Final Leg of Texas Derby

FRISCO, Texas (Friday, Sept. 23, 2011) - FC Dallas hosts in-state rival Houston at 3 p.m. Saturday at Pizza Hut Park for the final leg of the Texas Derby, presented by WinStar with associate sponsor Degree.

The first 5,000 fans through the gates will get free vuvuzelas, and Degree will hand out free samples following the game.

The rivalry between the two Texas clubs is a yearly battle for El Capitan, a Civil War-era cannon currently in the Dallas side's possession. FC Dallas fires the cannon after every home win. The two teams tied 2-2 at Houston's Robertson Stadium on May 28, meaning whichever team wins Saturday's game gets to keep the cannon.

El Capitan and FC Dallas supporters will lead the March to the Match from the Londoner at 2:30 p.m. Doug Quinn will represent all FC Dallas supporters in the ceremonial scarfing of the Lamar Hunt statue on the North Concourse at the end of the March.

Saturday is also "Bark in the Park" as fans can bring their dog to the game. Fans with dogs must arrange their tickets through Tessa Recendes at trecendes@fcdallas.net and sit in a special doggy section of the stadium. The Bark in the Park tickets cost $20 for one human and one dog with the $5 "dog ticket" donated to the ASPCA, which works to rescue animals from abuse, pass humane laws and share resources with shelters nationwide.

Gates open at 1:30 p.m. with $2 beer and $4 wine and Hornitos margaritas in the Budweiser Beer Garden through halftime. Fans can also get special #Brek4MVP mugs in the Beer Garden for $10, which includes their first beer, while #Brek4MVP t-shirts will be on sale for $10 at The Londoner prior to the game.
