
FC Dallas Homegrowns Jesús Ferreira, Ricardo Pepi Called into National Team Duty for World Cup Qualifiers

FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas Homegrowns Jesús Ferreira and Ricardo Pepi have been called up by U.S. Men's National Team head coach Gregg Berhalter to represent the United States in the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Mexico and Jamaica.
Ferreira and Pepi will report to camp following FC Dallas' road match against the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday, Nov. 7 at PayPal Park.

Ferreira, 20, earns his second call up to the USMNT this season and third overall since becoming a U.S. citizen on Dec. 16, 2019. He made his senior team debut in the 1-0 win against Costa Rica on Feb. 1, 2020. Ferreira also scored his first international brace and added three assists in the 7-0 shutout win against Trinidad and Tobago on January 31, 2021.
After only scoring one goal and registering one assist during the 2020 MLS season, Ferreira has scored eight goals and eight assists in 26 appearances this year, breaking his 2019 career best in goal contributions. He signed with FC Dallas as the 16th Homegrown at 15 years and 329 days old on Nov. 17, 2016, making him the third youngest player in club history behind Bryan Reynolds and Dante Sealy.
Pepi, 18, earns his third call up to the USMNT following his senior team debut in September where he scored his first USMNT goal and recorded two assists in the 4-1 win against Honduras on Sept. 8 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Pepi scored his first international brace in the 2-0 win against Jamaica on Oct. 7 at Q2 Stadium in Austin, TX.
The El Paso, Texas native has scored 15 goals and recorded four assists across all competitions for FC Dallas. Pepi became the youngest player in MLS and FC Dallas history at 18 years and 196 days old to score a hat trick when he scored three goals in the 4-1 win against the LA Galaxy on July 24, 2021. He signed with FC Dallas as the 26th Homegrown in club history at 16 years and 163 days old on June 21, 2019.
The USMNT are second in the Concacaf World Cup Qualifying standings with 11 points and a 3-1-2 record. The USMNT will face Mexico on November 12 (8:10 PM CT; ESPN2, Univision, TUDN) and Jamaica on November 16 (4PM CT; Paramount+, Universo).
