
FC Dallas Acquires Extra Youth International Spot From Colorado

DALLAS - FC Dallas President and General Manager Michael Hitchcock announced today that the club has acquired an additional Youth International spot from the Colorado Rapids in exchange for a third round pick in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft and a third round pick in the 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft.
With the trade, the Hoops now have four Youth International spots available to Head Coach Colin Clarke. Last season FC Dallas had three Youth Internationals on its roster in Roberto Mina and Ramon Nunez, each of whom will again be classified as a Youth International, as well as defender Winston Marshall who has chosen to retire.
Per MLS rules, a Youth International is a non-domestic player (i.e., non-U.S. citizen and non-green card holder) who is 24 years old or younger.
With the trade, FC Dallas now holds five picks in next years four round MLS SuperDraft.

FC Dallas, a charter member club of Major League Soccer, began play at Pizza Hut Park, a new 20,500 seat soccer specific stadium, on August 6, 2005. The 145-acre facility is located at the intersection of Main Street and Dallas North Tollway in Frisco. Pizza Hut Park will accommodate Major League Soccer matches, major concerts, international soccer matches and High School football. Adjacent to the stadium are 17 regulation-sized, tournament-grade soccer fields which will be utilized on a year-round basis. On November 13, 2005 Pizza Hut Park hosted Major League Soccer's championship match, MLS Cup 2005 live on ABC Sports.
