FC Cincinnati Passes 2018 Season Ticket Mark
November 27, 2018 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
FC Cincinnati News Release
CINCINNATI - FC Cincinnati has surged past 18,000 season tickets for its inaugural 2019 Major League Soccer season.
Now with more than 18,000 tickets sold through Tuesday, FCC has surpassed its entire 2018 season ticket total for the 2018 season before December has even begun. Last year, the club counted 18,007 season tickets in its final USL campaign and the club capped season ticket sales in June.
All 2019 season ticket sales have come before MLS has released any portion of the 2019 schedule, which traditionally has come out in full in early January.
"Our fans continue to amaze us," Jeff Smith, Vice President of Ticket Sales and Service, said. "It's remarkable that we've already passed our 2018 numbers before the calendar has even turned to 2019. There is a palpable excitement and anticipation for our first MLS season, and the fans who have already secured their season memberships are ready and raring to go.
"We've also seen that our season ticket memberships have been hugely popular holiday gifts already, and that's evident by the surge we've seen in the last week or so. It's a testament to the environment and atmosphere our fans and supporters have created at Nippert Stadium that so many Cincinnati sports fans want to be part of the action, game in and game out," Smith said.
FC Cincinnati plans to keep 2019 Season Ticket Memberships on sale into May, pending the team's early-season home schedule. However, with the total number of STMs already sold approaching 20,000, fans who are thinking about purchasing Season Ticket Memberships are encouraged to do so soon to ensure supply.
"Demand has certainly been strong through our first wave of sales especially before we even have a 2019 schedule," Smith said. "While our goal is to be able to offer as many season tickets as we have demand, in reality, the time will come soon when we have to take a hard look at what that means for our ability to service other segments of fans, including mini-plan purchasers, single-game buyers and groups. We need to make sure we have enough availability so that those who enjoy our live game experience differently than Season Ticket Members do still have that ability. If there is an interest in 2019 season tickets we encourage our fans to secure them soon."
Season Ticket Memberships start at $199 for general admission packages. Season packages in The Bailey and all premium and club seating is already sold out for the 2019 season. Fans can purchase Season Ticket Memberships online at fccincinnati.com/tickets, or by calling 1-513-977-5425 (KICK) during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. through 5 p.m. ET).
The next time Cincinnati takes the field, it will be as MLS' 24th team in 2019 when the club debuts in the top professional league in the U.S. and Canada. Season tickets for the 2019 season are now on sale at fccincinnati.com/tickets.
