Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

OMAHA - The Omaha Royals snapped their overall nine-game losing streak Wednesday night with a 10-4 win at New Orleans. However, the club is currently in the throes of a nine-game slide at home and the team is encouraging fans to bring their good luck charms to the Royals next home, this Saturday, May 10th, at 7:05 p.m. vs. New Orleans.

Anyone bringing a good luck charm to the game will receive a free box of Lucky Charms cereal, courtesy of No-Frills Supermarket. "Baseball is a sport full of superstitions and I figure if we can get enough good luck charms, we can create a positive atmosphere to spur the team on to victory," explained Royals Vice President and General Manager Doug Stewart (who also has refused to shave until the home losing streak has ended).

Saturday night is also Red Lion Hotel Seat Cushion Night. The first 1,500 fans when the gates open at 6:00 p.m. will receive a free Royals seat cushion.

On Sunday, the Royals take on the Zephyrs at 1:35 p.m. and, in honor of Mother's Day, all Moms receive a flower, courtesy of Taylor's Florist and Candlewood Suites. Every Sunday home game is also a Family Fun Day, when all kids are invited to run the bases after the game.

Game three of the series is Monday at 7:05 p.m. and marks the second in a series of five player photo giveaways. The first 1,500 fans when gates open at 6:00 p.m. will receive a photo of Royals outfielder Benny Agbayani.

The series and home stand comes to a close next Tuesday with another 12:05 p.m. game at beautiful Rosenblatt Stadium.
