The Back-to-School Bash with fun-filled events will be going on at Pelican Park all weekend as the Pensacola Pelicans take on the Sioux Fall Pheasants in a three-game home stand Friday through Sunday, August 6-8.

Friday August 6th is the Pelicans Backpack giveaway sponsored by Mediacom and Starz. The first 500 kids entering the gate will receive a free Pelicans backpack, just in time to head back to school. The game time is 6:45 and gates will open at 5:45.

Also Friday night, the Pelicans are partnering with Santa Rosa Medical Center as they host a night honoring cancer survivors. The Pelicans will be wearing purple jerseys to be auctioned off at the game with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. Before the game, all cancer survivors are welcome and encouraged to participate in a victory lap around the field. After the game, all fans are invited to purchase a luminary, which will be lit as fans form a circle around the field in honor of those loved ones lost to cancer.

The next night, Saturday the 7th, is Scoop's Birthday sponsored by AT&T, the Real Yellow Pages. Scoop, along with many of his friends, including the Rugrats Chuckie and Angelica from Mediacom, will be celebrating all night with gifts and birthday cake. Also, on Saturday, it is Boy Scout Night sponsored by Little Caesar's. Boy Scouts from the surrounding areas will be enjoying a campout in the outfield at Jim Spooner field.

The Pelicans close the weekend out with another great Covenant Hospice Kids Club Sunday. All kids wearing the Pelican's Kids Club t-shirt get into the game for free. It is $10 to join the Kids Club and the members get free entrance to all Sunday home games and monthly Scoop Newsletters!
