Grand Prairie 9, Pensacola 2

A seven-run fourth inning, highlighted by 3B Greg Porter's three-run home run, propelled Grand Prairie to a 9-2 win over Pensacola. 1B Michael Hollimon and CF Robert Perry both contributed RBI triples as part of their two-hit nights. RHP Ryne Tacker logged eight innings for the AirHogs, surrendering only one earned run and striking out seven. CF Francisco Leandro went 2-for-3 with a walk, double, and triple for the Pelicans in the losing effort.

Sioux City 6, St. Paul 1

Sioux City southpaw David Welch (6-5, 3.89 ERA) shut down the Saints, throwing 7.2 innings and striking out nine while walking none in a 6-1 victory. The Explorers got on the board early on SS Darrick Hale's RBI double. Hale was one of four Explorers to knock two hits, and 1B Kent Sakamoto walked three times in addition to his first-inning RBI single. St. Paul pushed their run across in the top of the eighth, when 2B Brandon Carter led off with a triple and came around to score on LF Chad Gabriel's RBI groundout.

Wichita 9, Shreveport-Bossier 7

Wichita rallied for three unearned runs off Shreveport-Bossier closer Hector Carrasco to walk away with a 9-7 come-from-behind victory. 1B Jorge Delgado drove in four runs with a 3-for-5 showing, including a clutch one-out single in the ninth to drive home the go-ahead runs. RHP Gabe Medina allowed one earned run in six innings while striking out ten in his start for the Wingnuts. RHP Cephas Howard earned the win for Wichita for recording the last four outs, striking out two batters. LF Andre Marshall and C Brian Peterson notched three-hit games for the Captains, while leadoff man Jovanny Rosario drove in four.

Fort Worth 11, El Paso 6

1B John Allen fell a single short of the cycle, but scored four runs and racked up four RBI in an 11-6 Fort Worth victory. DH Kevin Thompson and CF Brian Fryer also had three-hit games for the Cats. SS Arnoldo Ponce has three hits and 3B Mike Provencher drove in three runs for the Diablos. RHP Dwayne Pollok improved to 8-5 on the season after throwing 5.2 innings for Fort Worth in his start.
