Lincoln, NE - William Fallstrom scored twice, including a power-play goal in the second period, however it was the Lincoln Stars hanging on for a 3-2 victory over the Omaha Lancers on Friday night in front of 4,311 at The Ice Box.

Omaha took the lead 10:46 into the game. Brannon McManus dishes the puck off to Matt Meier just inside the blue line of the offensive zone. Meier cut to the front of the net and sent a shot at Peyton Jones who denied the original chance. The rebound rolled out to the top of the crease and William Fallstrom followed up firing the puck to the back of the net for the 1-0 lead on his second goal of the season.

After Fallstrom put the Lancers up by a goal, the Stars came right back to tie the game up at one, also on a rebound. Biagio Lerario sent a shot on goal that Lancers goaltender Kris Oldham got a piece off. The puck dropped to his left and Mike Gillespie came in to play a back-hand shot by the glove of Oldham to tie the game 1-1. The goal was Gillepie's second of the year and came at the 12:58 mark of the first period.

Late in the second period, the two teams combined for three quick goals. Lincoln got it started off the stick of Henry Bowlby. The forward beat Kris Oldham for his fourth of the season to give the Stars a 2-1 lead with only 3:56 remaining in the middle frame. Assists were given to Sam Kauppila and Jack Badini.

On the power play just over one minute later, the Lancers evened the score up at two goals apiece. Down low to the left of the net, Matt Meier played the puck to the high slot where Austin Alger was waiting. After getting the pass, Alger immediately played it to William Fallstrom at the bottom of the left wing circle who lifted a one-timer over a sprawling Peyton Jones. The goal was Fallstrom's second of the night and third of the season to even the score, 2-2, with 2:20 remaining.

When it looked like the game would head to the second intermission tied at two, Grant Jozefek put Lincoln back up by a goal with less than one minute left in the period. The goal came at the 19:01 mark and came off a scrum in front of the net with helpers from Ludvig Hoff and Trevor Hamilton.

With just over one minutes left in the game, Omaha pulled Kris Oldham for the extra-attacker but couldn't put together late-game magic and suffered a 3-2 loss. Oldham stopped 29 of 31 in the loss.

The Lancers are back on the road as the road trip continues tomorrow night inside the Viaero Event Center to face the Tri-City Storm at 7:05 p.m. Fans can listen live to the game beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the Valpak Pregame Show on "The Mighty" 1290 KOIL, Mighty 1290 KOIL Mobile APP, www.mighty1290koil.com, and www.FASTHockey.com.
