Falcons Sign First Newcomer

August 2, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Fresno Falcons News Release

Fresno, Calif. – The Fresno Falcons have signed rookie left winger John Dahl, who becomes the first player under contract for 2004-05 that was not with the team last season.

Dahl begins his professional career after spending the past four years playing in the Western Hockey League. Last season he tied for the Everett Silvertips' individual scoring lead with 44 points (25g-19a) and helped lead the expansion team to a surprising playoff run that culminated with an appearance in the Western Hockey League Finals.

"John is a gritty, determined player with lots of speed and good offensive skill," said Falcons head coach Greg Spenrath. "He comes from a team where he learned to play a professional style of hockey and was a pivotal part of their great playoff run."

Dahl joins Jordan Landry, Brian Passmore, Wes Rypien, Kevin Truelson and John Wroblewski on the Falcons roster that is scheduled to play the Bakersfield Condors in a pair of pre-season games on Oct. 15 and 16 before opening the 2004-05 ECHL campaign on Oct. 22 against the Las Vegas Wranglers at Save Mart Center.

Full season ticket packages and Flex Packs for the 2004-05 season are on sale beginning as low as $42. For complete ticket information, please visit the Falcons website at www.fresnofalcons.com/tickets.html or call the Falcons front office at (559) 485-PUCK (7825).
