Falcons Beat Monarchs 3-1; Win 2 of 3 on Weekend

The Springfield Falcons ended their three-game road trip with a solid 3-1 win in Manchester on Sunday afternoon at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Trevor Frischmon, Cody Goloubef and Tyler Murovich all scored for the Falcons while goaltender Dan Taylor stopped 34 of 35 shots on goal earning the game's first star. The Falcons won two of three games on the weekend and sit in second place in the Atlantic Division.
The Falcons got off to a fast start in the first period when Frischmon scored his first goal of the year at 11:28 of the first period assisted by Kyle Neuber giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead. Neuber and Manchester's Justin Johnson dropped the gloves in the first period with each player picking up fighting majors.
The Falcons expanded their lead to 2-0 in the second period when rookie Goloubef scored his first AHL/Pro goal at 10:18 of the middle frame assisted by Chris Francis and Matt Calvert.
Entering the third period with their two-goal cushion, the Falcons built a three-goal advantage when Murovich scored his first marker of his pro career when he slid a wrister past Erik Ersberg. Grant Clitsome and Frischmon added assists on Murovich's first goal of the year.
