HOUSTON --- T.J. Hensick scored twice and goaltender Jake Allen made 29 saves as the Peoria Rivermen handed the Houston Aeros their first loss of the season in a 3-2 final Saturday night at Toyota Center.

Hensick struck first at 3:01 of the opening period, sneaking a wrist shot past Aeros goalie Anton Khudobin after peeling out of the left corner. He bagged his second of the game at 13:49, just five seconds after a Rivermen power play expired, with a blast from the right circle.

Houston's Robbie Earl cut the lead in half, beating Allen with a glove-side one-timer at 1:41 of the third. Chad Rau got the primary helper, feeding Earl with a backhand pass after battling through traffic in the slot.

Graham Mink regained the two-goal lead for the Rivermen with his fourth goal of the season at 13:50 of the third, but Houston's Jean-Michel Daoust responded less than three minutes later at 16:32 to pull the Aeros within one.

The Aeros host the Oklahoma City Barons Sunday at 4:05 p.m. The first 2000 fans receive magnet schedules in addition to be able to take advantage of Family Four Packs. For just $67, get four tickets, parking, $20 in Toyota Center Bucks plus four Aeros hockey pucks.
