Falcons Announce National Anthem Tryouts Winner

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons chose the winner of the National Anthem tryouts, which were held on Saturday, August 26th. Thirteen year old Jorden Coffman of Fresno belted out the award winning rendition National Anthem in front of a large crowd gathered at Sierra Vista Mall's Gottschalks Court.

Falcons Veteran Cory Murphy, Big Country 102.7's Athena, ABC 30 Action News Anchor Itica Milanes, Falcons Broadcaster Joe Babik, Freddie Falcon and Falcons Marketing and Community Consultant Marcus Asay made up the judges panel who awarded Jorden 118 out of a possible 120 points. Rounding out the top 3 are John Kozak and seven year old Olivia Johnson both of Fresno.

Jorden, who made an appearance on FOX 26's Great Day Morning Show on Monday, will sing the National Anthem at the Grizzlies last home game this Thursday, August 31st and will sing the Anthem at the Falcons opening weekend game on Sunday, October 22nd at 5:00 p.m.

The Falcons also announced plans for a special opening night Anthem ceremony on Saturday, October 20th. In celebration of the Civil War Revisited, taking place on October 21st and 22nd at Kearney Park, the Falcons welcome Ebony Verses to sing the National Anthem while fellow members of the National Civil War Association present the colors.

The Pacific Division Champion Fresno Falcons are back on home ice for the Carl's Jr. Opening Weekend Extravaganza, Friday, October 20th and Sunday, October 22nd against the Las Vegas Wranglers at the Save Mart Center. The first 3,000 fans in attendance Friday will receive a mini Pacific Division Championship Banner. The extravaganza continues on Sunday, October 22nd with free magnet schedules and post-game skate with the players. Season tickets for the 2006-2007 season are on sale now.
