Fairfield Ludlowe Named Sun Team of the Week

UNCASVILLE, CT. (December 19, 2006) - Fairfield Ludlowe was selected as the Connecticut Sun High School Girls' Basketball Team of the Week on Tuesday after sweeping to victories over Harding on December 13th and Norwalk on December 15th.

In just its third season as a varsity program, Fairfield Ludlowe is off to a 4-0 start. The Lady Falcons have been led so far this season by Sara Kinsley, who is averaging 16.7 points, 14.2 rebounds and 5.2 blocks per game. Sara had 15 points, 17 rebounds and three blocks in a 59-53 win over Harding on the 13th, and 18 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks in a 54-53 win over Norwalk.

Each Tuesday during the high school girls' basketball regular season, the Connecticut Sun will recognize one Team of the Week. That team will receive a commemorative plaque, courtesy of the Connecticut Sun and Barker Specialty. Hamden High was recognized for the week ending December 8th.

The Team of the Week is the latest in a series of initiatives undertaken by the Connecticut Sun to highlight local girls' high school basketball, where future WNBA stars are already competing. The Sun also conduct a high school tour, host the CIAC Championship luncheon and recognize the four CIAC Class champions during a ceremony at halftime of a regular season game.
