Daytona Tortugas News Release

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL - The Daytona Tortugas scored on an error and a wild pitch in the 10th inning to beat St. Lucie, 4-2, Thursday night at First Data Field. It was Daytona's first win in St. Lucie since July, 2015.

St. Lucie got on the board quickly, as John Mora opened the game with a double against RHP Jonathan Crawford and advanced to third on a Reydel Medina error. He scored a batter later when JC Rodriguez lifted a fly ball to left field. St. Lucie would score their only other run on a two out wild pitch from Crawford in the sixth inning.

Daytona rallied for their two runs in the top of the sixth against RHP Alex Palsha . With two on and one out, Chadwick Tromp and Medina smacked back-to-back RBI singles to give Daytona the lead.

RHP Tanner Rainey left the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth, getting Arnaldo Berrios to line out to second to send the game to extra innings for the second straight night.

After opening the 10th with a pair of singles against RHP Austin McGeorge, Garrett Boulware dropped down a bunt that Jhoan Urena threw away to allow the go-ahead run to score. Daytona would add another run on a McGeorge wild pitch.

Rainey worked around a walk in the home half, striking out Urena for the final out of the win.

The Tortugas wrap up their series in St. Lucie Friday. First pitch is at 6:35 PM with The Metcare Pregame Show beginning at 6:20 PM on AM 1230 and AM 1490 WSBB.
