Windsor Express vs. the Moncton Miracles

(WINDSOR, ON)- The Windsor Express (19-16) snapped a two-game losing streak with a win over the Moncton Miracles (14-20) on Friday night, 100-94.
Tony Bennett opened up the game with a huge shot beyond the arc to get the Express on the board. From there, the Express continued to build a lead, finishing the first quarter with a 28-19 advantage.
Kirk Williams Jr put up 5 points in the first two minutes of the second quarter, to extend Windsor's lead. Moncton's Tydran Beaty brought the score within 6, 40-34 with over five minutes left. Windsor went into halftime with a 53-40 lead.
Tydran Beaty and Thomas Granado start off the second half with back to back buckets to bring the score closer. Midway through the quarter, the Express go on a 6-0 run, to extend their lead to 63-51. Shawn VanZant hits a three with 18 seconds left in the quarter, and the Express finish with a 15 point lead, 79-64.
The final quarter saw a Moncton comeback in the first three minutes. James Justice throws down a dunk to bring the score within three, 80-77. Brandon Robinson responds with a three pointer right after. Moncton's comeback was not enough to overcome Windsor. Sherron Collins and Alex Johnson finish the game by heading to the line, and hitting their free throws. Windsor walks away with a 100-94 victory.
Brandon Robinson was the leading scorer for the Express, putting up 23 points, a game high. Robinson added 11 rebounds for the double double.
Maurice Bolden came off the bench and put up 18 points.
Tony Bennett added 15 points of his own, and had 7 steals, a game high.
Mike Martin lead the Miracles in scoring with 20 points. James Justice had 14 points of his own.
The Windsor Express are back at The WFCU Centre on Saturday, April 16th to host the Halifax Hurricanes for a 7:30pm game start.
