Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Ryan Sanders Baseball and the Round Rock Express Baseball Club will host four-year-old Yorlene Centeno, the 100th HeartGift patient, June 1 at The Dell Diamond as the Express open a four-game series against the Iowa Cubs at 7:05 p.m. CDT. Centeno will be the special guest of Ryan Sanders Owner and CFO Reese Ryan and his wife, Alison.

A native of Nicaragua, Centeno traveled to Austin with her mother Maria for open heart surgery at Dell Children's Medical Center; the surgery is scheduled for May 20. Centeno suffers from a heart defect that limits blood to her lungs, which restricts oxygen flow throughout her body.

"We are thrilled to have Yorlene and her mother as our special guests at The Dell Diamond," Ryan said. "It is amazing to be involved in such a worthwhile organization comprised of physicians willing to donate their time and talents to help these deserving kids. This is by far the most rewarding thing of which Alison and I have been blessed to be a part. We look forward to seeing the remarkable improvement in Yorlene after her surgery."

Austin-based HeartGift Foundation brings children from around the world to Texas for free surgery to correct life-threatening heart defects. The group also has San Antonio and New Orleans chapters. Centeno is the 100th child to receive free heart surgery in HeartGift's inception in 1999.

If the surgery is successful, Centeno will return to Nicaragua with her family in late June.
