Reading Express News Release
Current Express wide receiver and former Shepherd University standout Dominique Jones has been a household name so far this season. While leading the team in receiving and making spectacular grabs, Jones has caught the eye of the NFL's Indianapolis Colts.
Jones left Tuesday night for Indianapolis where he will get a chance to try out and make the Colts roster.
Jones uses his combination of height and strength along with his reliable hands to snatch footballs away from defenders. Through seven games with the Express, he leads the team with 39 receptions and 349 receiving yards. Holding a spot as a top 10 receiver in the IFL this season, Jones has hauled in seven touchdowns.
During his senior year at Shepherd University, Jones racked up 34 receptions for a total of 403 yards and nine touchdowns. He also helped Shepherd advance to the Division II National Semi-Finals and a school record 12 wins. Jones was a third team All-American selection and a second team All-Conference selection as a senior.
Prior to playing with the Express, Jones gained professional football experience as a tight end for the UFL's Sacramento Mountain Lions.
