
James Temple and Pete Christofilakos Named IFL Players of the Week

Bloomington, IL, 4/25/12 - The Edge had two players receive Player of the Week honors for Week 9. The Edge beat the Reading Express 46-39 last Saturday night. James Temple won Defensive Player of the Week, while Pete Christofilakos won Special Teams Player of the Week.
Defensive back James Temple (6'0, 208, Illinois St.) intercepted all four of Reading QB Tim Bailey's passes and helped the Edge win their 7th consecutive game. Temple also had six tackles during the game. Temple is the only player in the IFL to intercept four passes in one game this season. He is now tied with the IFL interception lead with Tri-Cities DB Lionell Singleton with 9. This is Temple's second Defensive Player of the Week Nomination this season.
Kicker Pete Christofilakos (5'10,195, Illinois) earned Special Teams Honors, kicking six field goals from distances of distances of 21, 21, 22, 22, 38, and 40 yards. He was also four of four on extra points. Christofilakos made almost half of all Bloomington's 46 points as he notched 22 total points for the Bloomington Edge.
