Bloomington Edge News Release
Bloomington, IL, 4/25/12 - The Bloomington Edge, presented by Heller Stores, will play at the Green Bay Blizzard this Saturday night at 7 pm. The two teams have not met this season and will play again next week in Bloomington. The Edge are 7-1 this season and in 2nd place in the United Conference. The Blizzard are 5-2 and right behind the Edge.
The Edge are on a hot streak out of heck. They won their seventh straight game last week by a score of 46-39 over the Reading Express at home. They have not lost since week 1. That is the longest single-season winning streak in Bloomington Edge/Extreme history. The previous streak was six games won by the Extreme in 2010. The longest multiple season streak was nine games at the end of the 2010 season and beginning of 2011.
Another Edge milestone is also close.
Running back Andre Raymond has 14 touchdowns on the season. The Edge/Extreme season high in rushing touchdowns is 16, held by Raymond a year ago. With two touchdowns he will tie his own record. With three he will set the new Edge record for rushing touchdowns in a season.
Green Bay has also been streaking this season. The team lost at Sioux Falls in Week 1 and then won five straight before losing last week at Chicago. They are in a tight race with the Edge and first place Sioux Falls.
The Edge and Green Bay will go at it again on Saturday May 5 at 7:05 pm. It is the final regular season meeting of two between the two teams. For more information on the Edge visit bloomingtonedge.com and the IFL at goifl.com.
