
Indoor Football League Names Week 9 Players of the Week

RICHMOND VA.- The Indoor Football League (IFL) has named QB Chris Dixon, DB James Temple and K Pete Christofilakos Vidswap.com's IFL Week 9 Players of the Week.
Sioux Falls QB Chris Dixon and Bloomington DB James Temple have been named Vidswap.com's Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively. Bloomington K Pete Christofilakos has been named Vidswap.com's Special Teams Player of the Week.
IFL Offensive Player of the Week: Dixon (6'0,200, Humbolt St.) accounted for nine total touchdowns in Week 8 vs. the Nebraska Danger en route to his third Offensive Player of the Week nomination in the 2012 IFL season. Dixon completed 20 of 27 passes for 248 yards and six touchdowns against the Danger, as Sioux Falls beat Nebraska 76-49. He also ran six times for 61 yards and three touchdowns including a 30- yard scamper for a TD in the third quarter. The 2011 IFL MVP leads the IFL in Passer Rating (140.6) and completion percentage (79) .
IFL Defensive Player of the Week: DB James Temple (6'0, 208, Illinois St.) intercepted four passes by the Reading Express as he helped the Edge win their 7th consecutive game. Temple picked off all four of Reading QB Tim Bailey's passes en route to a Edge victory 46-39. Temple also had six tackles during the game. Temple is the only player in the IFL to intercept four passes in one game this season. He is now tied with the IFL interception lead with Tri-Cities DB Lionell Singleton with nine. This is Temple's second Defensive Player of the Week Nomination this season.
IFL Special Teams Player of the Week: The Bloomington Edge have two IFL Players of the Week this week as K Pete Christofilakos (5'10,195, Illinois) earned Special Teams Honors. Christofilakos kicked six field goals from distances of distances of 21,21,22,22, 38 and 40 yards. He was also four of four on extra points. Christofilakos made almost half of all Bloomington's 46 points as he amassed 22 total points for the Bloomington Edge.
