
Express Get Revenge on Lightning, 91-88

(WINDSOR, ON)- The Windsor Express (11-10) finished their three game stretch at home against the London Lightning (16-5) with a victory, 91-88.
Shaquille Keith put the Express on the board with a big three pointer at the beginning of the game. Warren Ward gave the Lightning their first lead of the game after a three, but Brandon Robinson's jump shot erases that lead. The Express finished the first quarter with a 28-17 lead.
Windsor continued their momentum during the second quarter, extending their lead by as much as 17, 36-19 at the 8:42 mark. Windsor went into halftime with a 48-36 advantage.
The Lightning put up 6 points in the first minute and a half of the third, bringing the score within 6, 48-42. Ryan Anderson tied the game at 65-65 with less than two minutes at the 1:50 mark. However, Alex Johnson's three point play and Brandon Robinson's jumper near the end of the third gave the Express a five point lead going into the last quarter, 75-70.
Alex Johnson nails a deep three to start off the final quarter, and extend Windsor's lead, 73-65. From there, London and Windsor exchanged scoring opportunities. Nick Okorie's jump shot brings the score within 1 at the one minute mark, 88-87, but Brandon Robinson sinks two free throws to extend Windsor's lead. Chris Commons had a phenomenal block near the end of the game, to force him back to the line, and seal the win for Windsor, 91-88.
Brandon Robinson led the Express in scoring with 23 points, followed by Chris Commons with 22 points. Alex Johnson had another double digit performance, adding 17 points of his own.
Tony Bennett had a game high 13 assists.
Stephen Maxwell had a double double for the Lightning, with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Warren Ward had 18 points of his own.
The Windsor Express will be back at The WFCU Centre on Friday, March 26th to host the Orangeville A's for a 7:30pm game start.
