Orangeville, ON - The Windsor Express (1-2) started 2016 off on a high note at the Athlete Institute, earning their first win of the season over the Orangeville A's, 111-94.

Adrian Moss got the momentum going late in the first quarter for the Express after connecting on a three pointer, then grabbing a quick steal and scoring to complete a five- point swing in less than twenty seconds to give Windsor a 25-16 lead. Windsor finished the first up 28-26.

The second quarter was a very physical one. The A's lost three of their core players after Jameson Tipping and Erik Copes were both ejected from the game, and Lewis Jackson left the game due to injury. The Express capitalized by finishing the half with a 57-47 lead.

Neither team was able to gain an edge in the third quarter as both the Express and A's contributed 25 points allowing Windsor to hold a ten point lead, 82-72.

The Express continued their solid play in the fourth quarter and were able to pull away to earn their first victory of the season, with a final score of 111-94.

Newly signed Brandon Robinson was impressive for the Express in his debut scoring 21 points along with 7 assists and 4 rebounds while going 5-5 from the free throw line.

Four Windsor Express players scored in double digits; Chris Commons (22), Brandon Robinson (21), Tony Bennett (20), and Adrian Moss (19). Adrian Moss grabbed a game high 9 rebounds, followed by Chris Commons and Shane Ross with 6 rebounds apiece.

Justin Moss of the A's put up 22 points, while Flenard Whitfield scored 20 of his own.

The Windsor Express will host the Niagara River Lions at home on Saturday, January 2 nd at The WFCU Centre, with a 7:30pm start. The Express will close their three game stretch on the road against the London Lightning on Sunday, January 3 rd at 2:00pm.
