
Expos (Canadians) fall to Hillsboro 6-3 to wrap up first half

(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - The Canadians wrapped up the first-half of the Northwest League with a 6-3 loss to Hillsboro on Monday evening out at Scotiabank Field as the Hops pounded out 14 hits en route to their 24th victory of the season, while Vancouver finishes at .500 (19-19) just one game back of Everett for the first-half pennant.
LF Hunter Steinmetz went 2-for-4 in the loss while SS Vinny Capra hit a two-run single in the bottom of the 7th to pull the Canadians to within three after falling behind early.
RHP Josh Winckowski (2-4) suffered his 4th loss of the season after going four innings, allowing a season-high ten hits and five runs, three earned. North Vancouver's RHP Will McAfferpitched 1 1/3 innings in relief allowing just one hit, walking two and striking out two.
Vancouver wakes up on Tuesday (July 24) back at 0-0 as the second half of the season gets underway out at Memorial Stadium in Everett, Washington with three games (through July 26) against the first-half North Division Champions.
Vancouver Canadians Baseball returns to Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium on Friday, July 27th at 7:05pm as the C's welcome the Eugene Emeralds (Chicago Cubs) for a five-game series that runs through Tuesday, July 31st with tickets available at www.canadiansbaseball.com.
NOTE: Tuesday's game in Everett can be heard both at www.canadiansbaseball.com and on TSN1040 AM with the A&B Tool Rentals Pre-Game Show starting at 6:00pm and the first pitch set to go at 7:05pm... The Canadians wore Expos-inspired jerseys that were auctioned off post-game with full proceeds benefitting the Vancouver Canadians Baseball Foundation.
