Everson Joins Gladiators

DULUTH, GEORGIA - The Atlanta Gladiators announced Friday that defenseman Max Everson has been assigned to the Gladiators by the Providence Bruins and will be added to the preseason roster.

Everson, 22, is set to begin his rookie year of professional hockey after completing his NCAA career at Harvard University last season. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound defenseman appeared in 101 games over four years at Harvard where he produced 17 career points and was named one of the Crimson's co-captains his senior season. The native of Edina, MN was selected in the seventh round (203 overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs while he was a member of the United States National Development Program of the USHL.

The Gladiators also announced today that goaltender Matt Ginn has been re-called to the Providence Bruins of the AHL while goaltender Garrett Bartus and forward Mitchell Dempsey have been signed to try-out contracts. In addition, defenseman Ryan Devine and forward Martin Dubec have been released from their try-outs. Atlanta's training camp roster is now at 24 total players with 14 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders.
