Indy Fuel News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs announced Friday afternoon that goaltender Mac Carruth has been recalled by the IceHogs.
Carruth, 23, inked an AHL deal with Rockford back on August 17, but was assigned to the Fuel following training camp. The netminder from Jackson, Wyo. has appeared in 10 career AHL contests with the IceHogs over the last two seasons, carding a 4-3-1 record with one shutout. A seventh-round draft pick (No. 191 overall) by the Blackhawks in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Carruth played 39 games with the Fuel in 2014-15, owning a 17-13-2-5 record with three shutouts. The 6-foot-3, 182-pound puck stopper was named the ECHL's Goaltender of the Month in January 2015, after compiling a 7-2-0-0 record, a 1.45 goals against average and a .951 save percentage.
Rockford opens their 2015-16 AHL regular season schedule Friday night in northern California as they take on the San Jose Barracuda. The Fuel host the Quad City Mallards Sunday afternoon in their second of two preseason games leading up to Opening Night on October 16. Sunday's exhibition game is Family Fun Day at Indiana Farmers Coliseum, complete with a post-game skate and team autograph session. Fans can bring their own skates or take advantage of a free skate rental, on a first-come, first-served basis.
In 2015-16, the Indy Fuel drop the puck on their second season in the ECHL. Single-game tickets are now on sale at Ticketmaster or at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum box office, while a variety of different ticket plans and group specials are available by calling (317) 925-FUEL or visiting www.indyfuelhockey.com.
