EVERETT, WA - The Everett Aqua Sox beat the Boise Hawks Wednesday night in a slug fest, 14-10. The Aqua Sox hit five home runs, two each by lead off man Greg Hallman and third baseman Leury Bonilla and one by Manilik Pimentel. Three home runs and seven runs came off Boise starter Jose Pina. Pina was ejected for hitting Hallman after Halman took him deep in his first two at bats. The Sox went on to get seven more runs off the Boise bullpen.
The Hawks offense started late but eventually collected 20 hits, five by third baseman Josh Lansford who had four singles and a double. Tyler Colvin had three hits including a double and a triple. It was the most hits the Hawks have collected this season. The game ended on a ground out by Alfred Joseph with the bases loaded against Sox reliever Doug Fister.
The series continues Thursday night. Mike Billek goes to the mound for Boise. He will be opposed by the Aqua Sox Mike Schilling. Game time at Everett's Memorial Stadium is 7:05 p.m. Mountain time.
