Vancouver Canadians News Release

(PK Park - Eugene, OR) - After watching his manager and shortstop get ejected seconds earlier, Eugene CF Ronnie Richardson hit a solo, walk-off home run off of Canadians reliever RHP Tucker Donahue to help the Emeralds to a 2-1 victory over Vancouver on Monday night out at PK Park in Eugene, Oregon.

Vancouver would get their only run of the game in the top of the 3rd inning when SS Jorge Flores snuck his 2nd home run of the season over the left field fence off of Eugene starter LHP Kyle Ottoson that gave the Canadians a 1-0 lead.

The Emeralds would draw even in the bottom of the 5th inning when with a runner at third base (1B Goose Kallunki), Canadians starter RHP Javier Avendano uncorked a wild pitch that got past C Dan Klein that allowed Kallunki to score.

Shortly after the game evened up, Canadians manager Clayton McCullough was ejected for the third time this season after an argument from the third base dugout with the home plate umpire.

Eugene would suffer a pair of ejections in the bottom of the 9th after Canadians RHP Tucker Donahue struck out SS Stephen Carmon, the batter argued with the home plate umpire who then ejected Carmon. Seconds later Emeralds manager Pat Murphy would argue at length with both umpires on the two man crew (4 minutes 46 seconds) before he finally left the field.

The very next pitch Donahue offered up was to Emeralds CF Ronnie Richardson who crushed it over the centerfield wall to end the game with one swing of the bat. It would be his first home run of the season and improve Eugene to 19-11 while the Canadians fall to 17-13.
