
Eugene beats the Hawks with just two hits, 3-1

EUGENE, OR -The Eugene Emeralds got only two hits Monday night but they made the most of them as they beat the Boise Hawks, 3-1. Boise starter Kitt Kopach hit two batters and walked one to load the bases, Willie Craffort then doubled to left field for the Emeralds first hit to score two runs and give Eugene the lead in the game.
In the fifth, Kopach was lifted with one out after he walked Mike Epping. Jason Ruhlman came into the game and walked three batters and forced in a run. Matt Antonelli had a base hit in the seventh for the only other hit for the Emeralds. Josh Lansford drove in the lone run for the Hawks with ground out in the sixth after Mario Mercedes singled, sent to second on a wild pitch and went to third on an errant pick off attempt by the Eugene catcher
The Hawks return home to open an eight game home stand starting with three games against the Spokane Indians. Fabian Jimenez goes to the mound for the Hawks on Tuesday night. Game time at Boise Memorial Stadium is 7:15 p.m.
