SPOKANE, WA - The Vancouver Canadians pulled within four games of first place Sunday night with a 10-3 victory on the road versus the Spokane Indians. The C's bats were on fire as they pounded out 16 hits on the night. Shortstop Christian Vitters went 4-5 with two doubles and three RBI. Centre fielder Larry Cobb and third baseman Alex Valdez had a pair of RBI, apiece. Designated hitter Sammy Hernandez had three hits.
Vancouver got a solid start from Inoel Deaza (4-3), who went five innings and scattered five hits. Reliever Anthony Rea went three scoreless innings, allowing only five hits and walking one. Closer Scott Moore came in for the ninth and slammed the door shut, striking out a pair of Indians batters.
The Canadians complete their 5-game road trip Monday afternoon with a 3:30 start at Spokane. The C's return to Nat Bailey Stadium for Hollywood North Night and a visit from the San Diego Padres own Eugene Emeralds at 7:05 on Tuesday.
