Long Island Ducks News Release

(Central Islip, N.Y., May 31, 2009) - The Long Island Ducks defeated the York Revolution on Sunday 8-2 before a past-capacity crowd of 6,096 at Citibank Park.   The Ducks jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning after a Victor Rodriguez RBI double and an Estee Harris grand slam. Rob Sandora added a two-run homer in the fourth to help give the Flock a 7-1 advantage.   Ducks' starter Brad Halsey (2-3) fired six innings, allowing one run and four hits, while striking out one. For the second consecutive game, the Ducks' bullpen shut the door on the Revs as Robert Paulk, Mike Hrynio and Ron Flores tossed the final three innings to preserve the win. With the victory, the Flock completed a three-game sweep over the Revs and moved within 2.5 games of first place in the Liberty Division.    Ray Navarrete, Sandora and Harris chipped in with multi-hit games, while first baseman Victor Rodriguez enjoyed his first four-hit performance of the season.   The Ducks will now hit the road to begin a seven-game road trip.
