Esks Sign 2013 Draft Class

(Edmonton) - The Edmonton Eskimo Football Club announces the signing of the following five members from the 2013 draft class:

- Linebacker Kyle Norris (24th overall)

- Offensive Lineman Christopher Mercer (26th overall)

- Offensive Lineman Taylor Servais (34th overall)

- Defensive End Elie Ngoyi (51st overall)

- Fullback Smith Wright (55th overall)

Defensive lineman Stefan Charles (10th overall) and linebacker Jorgen Hus (31st overall) have signed with the NFL's Tennessee Titans and St. Louis Rams respectively.

Kyle Norris

Linebacker (non-import)

College: Saint Mary's

Height: 6.03

Weight: 232

During his final year in the CIS, Norris registered 48 tackles, three sacks, one interception and one forced fumble. He spent four years with the Huskies recording 101 tackles.

Christopher Mercer

Offensive Lineman (non-import)

College: Regina

Height: 6.07

Weight: 290

Mercer was a CIS second-team All-Canadian and a Canada all-star as a member of the Regina Rams o-line. He started all four years with the Rams.

Taylor Servais

Offensive Lineman (non-import)

College: Ottawa

Height: 6.04

Weight: 300

Servais was acquired by the Esks in a draft day trade with the Calgary Stampeders in exchange for defensive lineman Etienne Legare. He spent three years with the Ottawa Gee-Gees and was a 2011 OUA East second-team All-Star.

Elie Ngoyi

Defensive Lineman (non-import)

College: Bishop's

Height: 6.02

Weight: 270

Ngoyi had an exceptional season in 2012 with Bishop's University. The six-foot-two, 270-pound defensive lineman recorded 38.5 tackles and 4.5 sacks.

Smith Wright

Fullback (non-import)

College: Alberta

Height: 6.02

Weight: 220

Wright carried the ball 29 times for 74 yards and three touchdowns. He also hauled in 13 receptions for 113 yards over his five-year career as a University of Alberta Golden Bear.
