
Esks open '06 season with Grey Cup rematch

(Edmonton) The defending Grey Cup champion Edmonton Eskimos will open the 2006 CFL regular season against their bitter rivals, the Montreal Alouettes on Friday, June 16th in Montreal.
The Esks host the Ottawa Renegades in the season opener at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday, June 24th. Edmonton fans will get their first look at Jason Maas and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Friday, July 7. The Calgary Stampeders pay two visits to Edmonton this season; Friday, September 8th for the Labour Day Rematch presented by Alberta Pork Sports, and Friday, October 27 in the final regular season game for both teams. The Eskimos 2006 home schedule features five Friday night games, three Saturday nights and one Thursday night.
Edmonton open their pre-season on Sunday, May 28th in Winnipeg and host Saskatchewan on Friday, June 9th.
