Edmonton Elks News Release

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimo Football Club announced today that linebacker A.J. Gass has signed an extension with the club. Terms of the agreement were not released.

Gass started all 18 regular season games in 2004 and led the Eskimos in special teams tackles with 16 while adding 65 defensive tackles. He also recorded one TFL, one interception and one kickoff return for 10 yards.

A.J.'s best performance came in Week 13 versus Calgary when he chalked-up six defensive tackles and two special teams tackles. A major contributor off the field as well, Gass was the Eskimos' nominee for the Tom Pate award in 2004.

"Having A.J. onboard is a big plus for our defense. His leadership on and off the field is something every club wants and I am very pleased that he will remain an Eskimo for years to come," said Eskimo head coach Danny Maciocia.
