
Esks add NFL duo to receiving corps

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos announced today they have signed a pair of import wide receivers, Richard Smith and Taco Wallace.
Smith spent time in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskins. He was allocated to the Hamburg Sea Devils for the 2006 season. The Shreveport native played in 49 games at Arkansas (1999-2003) where he had 135 receptions for 1,858 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also competed in the triple jump and long jump for the Razorback Track & Field team. He qualified for the Olympic Trials in triple jump in 2004, but chose to attend the Kansas City Chiefs training camp.
Wallace was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the seventh round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He spent two seasons with the Seahawks before joining the Green Bay Packers for the 2005 season. Wallace began his collegiate career at Mount San Antonio College in California where he started for two seasons. He then transferred to Kansas State for his two final years. As a senior in 2002, Taco led the team with 39 receptions for 704 yards (18.1 average) and five touchdowns.
