Edmonton Elks News Release
( Edmonton ) The Edmonton Eskimos have added considerable size and height to the offensive line with the signing of free agent Orrin Thompson, the club announced today.
Thompson (6-6, 320 lbs), a product of Duke University where he was a standout defensive lineman, signed as a undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2005 and made the switch to offence. He spent two seasons on the Dolphins practice roster. He's also spent time with the Green Bay Packers (2007) and New York Giants (2009). Most recently, Thompson played for the UFL's New York Sentinels (2009) and Hartford Colonials (2010).
Eskimo General Manager Eric Tillman says " Orrin is a very intelligent and highly athletic big man. He'll come to training camp to compete for a starting job at either right or left tackle".
