Edmonton Elks News Release
(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos have released veteran wide receiver Andrew Nowacki. A third round selection (26th Overall) in the 2004 CFL Canadian Draft, the former Murray State product has spent his entire career with the Esks. Dependable and durable, Nowacki played in 103 career regular season games, posting 186 catches for 2,054 yards and six touchdowns. The Stony Creek, Ontario native played in five post-season games and the 2005 Grey Cup.
Eskimo Head Coach Kavis Reed says "Andrew Nowacki's contributions to our club cannot be measured solely by statistics. With his intense desire to win and a commitment to always putting the team first, Andrew was everything you want a veteran player to be. The entire Eskimo organization wishes Andrew and his family much success in the future."
The Eskimos have also released defensive back David Pittman. He joined the Esks last year as a free agent playing in 11 regular season games registering 25 tackles, two sacks and two knock downs. Pittman spent the remainder of the 2011 season on the 9-game injured list.
