Edmonton Elks News Release

Fan Day : A few hundred members of the Eskimo Empire enjoyed the annual Fan Day at training camp. Lots of families and young fans enjoyed the practice, BBQ , Cheer Team Performance and player autograph session. Not even a late afternoon downpour could dampen the crowds enthusiasm.

Bye-bye mullet: QB Stefan Lefors' "hockey hair" has become a training camp casualty. The sophomore south-paw arrived in camp with a style vaguely reminiscent of a young Hugh Campbell.

Fists o' Fury: Rookies Tyler Clutts and Torrin Tucker traded blows in a brief, but spirited exchange.

Quotable:

Coach Maciocia had high praise for rookie DB/KR Tristan Jackson who had a 92 yard kickoff return against the Stamps , "He reminds me of a young Malcolm Frank to a certain extent; physical, no-nonsense. He hardly ever says anything...I would be surprised if we have said five words to one another since we have been at camp and it was no different with Malcolm. He is a hard-nosed kid. He's a kid with a ton of ability with a blue-collar mentality," says Maciocia, who doesn't often compare too many players to Malcolm Frank. "There's not too many times I will throw out that name and he's got the ability to be someone who can hopefully help us out."
