
Ernesto postpones series opener at Carolina

Zebulon, N.C. - Thursday's series opener between the Jacksonville Suns and Carolina Mudcats has been postponed due to heavy rainfall throughout Eastern North Carolina from Tropical Storm Ernesto.
The National Weather Service forecast for Zebulon Thursday night indicated a chance of precipitation at 100% with possible new rainfall amounts in excess of four inches.
Thursday's game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 5:00 p.m.
The Suns and Mudcats will begin the series Friday with the originally scheduled 7:15 p.m. ET first pitch. 2006 Southern League Most Outstanding Pitcher Spike Lundberg will face Carolina RH Daniel Barone. Fans can follow the action on AM 930 The Fox or online at jaxsuns.com or milb.com.
